Artist Showcase: Faiza Hasan

"This body of work— rendered in charcoal, embellished and mended in gold— roots from my interest in objects of personal history, particularly the manner in which they remain entangled with the more prominent occurrences of their time. It draws from what I have come to recognise as a sort of personal archive— one that has culminated over the years. These drawings often function as visual records that are layered and connoted; and tread a space that exists between personal, official and public in their attempt to engage with the broader events of the present." -Faiza Hasan
